“Water Colors”
The new artistic director, Jeff Myers, violinist (Calidore String Quartet) and pianist Mariko Kaneda (faculty, Ohio Wesleyan University) will perform water-themed pieces by Edwin Grasse, Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Camille Saint-Saëns.
Brahms G-Major Sextet: “Curtis Friends”
Featuring Johannes Brahms’s second sextet in G major, this performance reunites musicians and friends, many of whom attended the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Musicians include violinist Paul Roby (Philadelphia Orchestra), Lun Jiang (violin, Utah Symphony); Kenichiro Matsuda (viola, Columbus Symphony); Belinda Reuning-Burge (viola, Dayton Philharmonic and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra); Trevor Handy (cello, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra); and Pegsoon Whang (cello, Utah Symphony).
Nexus Saxophone Quartet
Featuring Ryan Alexis (Soprano Saxophone, Worthington Schools); Rob Cebriak (Alto Saxophone, Gahanna Jefferson Schools); Don Nathan (Tenor Saxophone, Worthington Schools [retired]); and Matt Guirreri (Baritone Saxophone, Pickerington Schools); the Nexus Saxophone Quartet will perform a world premiere for four saxophones by HyeKyung Lee (Associate Professor of Composition, Denison University), as well as works by George Gershwin, Samuel Barber, Jean Rivier, and Percy Grainger.
